Thank You From 2 Children

THANK YOU SO MUCH for responding so generously to the H.C.P.T appeal which raised £1553.60 which I think is probably a record here for a retiring collection appeal. This means two children will be able to have a great holiday in Lourdes.

Two children may not seem a lot; may seem to not make much difference especially in the great scheme of things, but it does!
If we ever sometimes doubt whether our efforts to help individuals really matters when so much need, remember the story of the ‘The Boy and the Starfish’.

There’s a story of an old man taking a morning walk along a beach. He noticed a youngster ahead of him picking up starfish and throwing them into the sea. Catching up with the lad, he asked him what he was doing. The youngster’s response was that the starfish would die if left out in the morning sun.

“But the beach goes on for miles and there must be millions of stranded starfish. It’s just one of those things that happens from time to time. There’s nothing any one of us can do about it, I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do to make a difference.”

The lad looked at the starfish he was holding in his hand and as he threw it to safety in the sea he said, “But it will make a difference to this one!”
